Bench dedication to honor the achievements of Alex Gomez

The public is invited to Reinhardt University this Wednesday, Nov.10 at 11:30 a.m. for the dedication of a bench in honor of Alex Gomez. Gomez, director of operations for Chick-fil-A Canton, is a recent Reinhardt University graduate. The bench is donated by Kevin Williams, who owns and operates the Chick-fil-A restaurants at Riverstone, Canton Marketplace, and Hickory Flat. The Chick-fil-A cow will even be present at the dedication.

Gomez began working at Chick-fil-A for Williams in 1998, just seven years after immigrating to the United States. Coming from a background of poverty, Gomez dedicated himself to constant improvement. He eventually attained his GED diploma, an associate degree, and, most recently, a bachelor’s degree from Reinhardt University. Through it all, he has maintained an attitude of positivity. Gomez, well-known in the Canton community for his service to others and his unwavering persistence, has previously been honored by the Mayor of Canton and Canton City Council by naming May 17 as Alex Gomez Day. Earlier this year, Williams established the Alex Gomez Scholarship “to honor his legacy of persistence” according to the alexgomezday.com.
