(JAN. 14, 2026) — With multiple elections scheduled in 2026, the Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration Office is inviting residents to join an experienced, dedicated, and growing team of poll workers who help make Election Day a success for the entire community.
Cherokee County’s poll workers are known for their professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to serving voters. As election activity increases in 2026, the Elections Office is expanding its team to welcome new members who want to make a meaningful impact alongside seasoned poll workers.
“Our poll workers are the heart of our elections,” said Anne Dover, Director of Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration. “They bring energy, care, and integrity to every polling location. We’re excited to welcome new faces to this already outstanding team and give residents the opportunity to serve their neighbors in a truly important way.”
Poll workers are paid positions and receive mandatory training prior to each Election Day, ensuring every team member feels confident and prepared. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Cherokee County residents, at least 16 years old, able to read, write, and speak English, and pass a background check. Individuals may not be convicted felons (unless voting rights have been restored), candidates for public office, current officeholders, or related to a candidate on the ballot. Registered voters are preferred.
Residents interested in joining this dynamic poll worker team can learn more or apply by visiting the Cherokee County Elections website or clicking on the link “Becoming a Poll Worker,” or by contacting the Elections Office at 770-479-0407 and asking for Grace Waddell, Electronic Systems and Training Manager.
