(DEC. 30, 2025) — The Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration Office has received the Communicator Award from the Partnership for Large Election Jurisdictions (PLEJ), a national organization representing the largest election offices in the United States. The award was presented during the PLEJ Allstars Ceremony on Dec. 18, recognizing excellence in voter communication, education, and community outreach.

The Communicator Award honors election offices and professionals who demonstrate outstanding leadership in providing clear, accurate, and accessible election information to the public. Among those recognized was Donna Kosicki, Community Outreach Specialist, whose work has been instrumental in launching and expanding Cherokee County’s Voter Education and Community Outreach initiatives.

Through educational presentations, partnerships with community organizations, and direct engagement with voters, the Elections Office has strengthened public understanding of voter registration, voting options, election processes, and election integrity. The award highlights the office’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and public trust.

“We are extremely proud of the work being done by our entire team and especially of Donna, who has led our community outreach efforts with dedication and professionalism,” said Anne Dover, Director of Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration. “2025 was the first year of our formal Community Outreach Program, and we not only met but exceeded our goals. This national recognition affirms the importance of voter education, and we are excited about the plans already underway for 2026.”

The recognition places Cherokee County among a select group of election jurisdictions nationwide being honored for innovation and excellence in public communication.
