WOODSTOCK, GA – The City of Woodstock, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Cherokee County, is urging residents, commuters, and business owners across the region to participate in shaping the future of the Ridgewalk Parkway interchange at I-575 by providing feedback on GDOT’s project webpage.
The interchange is a critical gateway into Woodstock and Cherokee County as well as a major connector for North Georgia and the Metro Atlanta region. It is slated for a diverging diamond redesign to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety. GDOT has launched a project hub with detailed maps, design concepts, and comment submission tools to give the public a voice in the plans for the project.
“This project impacts not only Woodstock, but the thousands of drivers from across the region who use Ridgewalk Parkway every day,” said Mayor Michael Caldwell. “We want everyone to take a few minutes to visit the project site, review the plans, and share their feedback. Public input is essential to getting this project right.”
GDOT estimates the cost of the project including right-of-way acquisition in Fiscal Year 2026 and utilities and construction in Fiscal Year 2028 to total $13.7M. The public can view the project details and submit comments directly through GDOT’s Online Open House.
Find a link to the project portal at woodstockga.gov/ridgewalk. Feedback will be accepted through October 10, 2025.
