CANTON, GA – History Cherokee invites the community to celebrate Southern tradition and support local history at its 23rd Annual Kentucky Derby Day, taking place Saturday, May 2, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Mill on Etowah.
One of History Cherokee’s most anticipated events of the year, Kentucky Derby Day brings together festive Derby traditions, local flavors, and spirited competition—all in support of the organization’s mission to preserve and share the history of Cherokee County.
Guests will enjoy an afternoon filled with bourbon tastings, festive drinks, gourmet bites, a lively hat contest, a pony pull, and a silent auction, all while celebrating the excitement of the Kentucky Derby in style.
Tickets are $100 per person or $180 per couple. Each ticket includes three drink tickets. Additional drinks—including a limited number of specialty cocktails—will be available for purchase.
Guests can also enhance their experience by adding a Bourbon Tasting ticket for $20, which includes the opportunity to sample five premium bourbons.
This year’s event is made possible through partnerships with several beloved local businesses, including The Mill on Etowah, Atlanta’s Event Specialists, Riverstone Corner Bistro, Canton Cigar Company, Reformation Brewery, and Suds & Bottles, helping create an unforgettable Derby Day celebration.
“Derby Day is always one of the most fun and festive events of the year,” said Jessica Guthrie, History Cherokee Development Director. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate tradition, and support the programs and collections that help us tell the story of Cherokee County.”
Tickets are now available, and event sponsorships are still available.
Guests are encouraged to grab their best Derby hat and join History Cherokee for an unforgettable afternoon of fun, fashion, and philanthropy.
