History Cherokee’s newest temporary exhibit, “Life’s a Stitch,” is now open. The exhibit is located in the Thomas L. Byron Dobbs Gallery inside the Cherokee County History Center at 212 E. Marietta Street in Canton.

“Life’s a Stitch” showcases a variety of handmade textiles from Cherokee County residents spanning multiple generations as well as some of the tools used to create these functional works of art. From quilts and sewn items to delicate tatted lace, crochet, and embroidery, guests will see a wide range of beautifully crafted items that were at one time found in most homes.

“Life’s a Stitch” is on exhibit now through May 28. Museum admission is $9 for adults, $7 for children under age 14, and free for History Cherokee members. For more information on the Cherokee County History Center, including hours and upcoming programming, visit www.historycherokee.org.
