The Northside Hospital Cherokee Conference Center will host the 11th annual Jingle Bell $hop from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday.
The Jingle Bell $hop is a free admission, one-stop shopping extravaganza of beautiful and distinctive gifts, allowing for early shoppers to beat the rush of holiday shopping.
“The Jingle Bell $hop was created to encourage shopping local and to help people get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping,” Pam Carnes, president and CEO of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, said. “That is why we hold this event in November. We also want people to see the variety of businesses that will be at the conference center. The idea is that people will want to do business with them again.”
“Many of the vendors will have door prizes,” Carnes said. “You don’t have to be at the shop to win. If you visit the shop early in the morning and you don’t have your name pulled until later in the day or evening, we will either call you to come and pick up your prize or the prize will be available for pick up at the chamber of commerce.”
Along with the wide variety of vendors, Santa will be in attendance to take photos all day. He will take a break from 2-3 p.m. Santa’s workshop will be open to children who want to participate in crafts throughout the day.
Local elementary schools will be in attendance to provide musical entertainment to guests. The schools that will perform include: Primrose School of Harmony on the Lakes at noon, Cherokee Carter Academy at 4 p.m., Knox Elementary School at 5 p.m., Bascomb Elementary School at 6 p.m. and Hasty Elementary School at 7 p.m.
With everything that the Jingle Bell $hop has to offer, Carnes expects this year’s shop to be the biggest in years.
“Last year’s attendance was around 1,200,” Carnes said. “This year we are anticipating an even larger group.”
The Northside Hospital Cherokee Conference Center is located in the Cherokee County Administration Building at 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.
