(MAY 6, 2025) — Cherokee County’s Love Where You Live Community Giveback is expanding with added merchandise available for special order.
Love Where You Live launched in the fall of 2024 with videos featuring local residents telling their stories. The initiative was coupled with a Community Giveback component, which raised nearly $3,000 for Never Alone Community Food Pantry and Stand Up for Seniors.
Since inception, a dozen videos have been published to Cherokee County’s YouTube channel, and T-shirt sales have raised nearly $1,000 for the 2025 Community Giveback. To bolster the community fundraiser, new merchandise is available for order with proceeds benefitting local nonprofits. A Love Where You Live merchandise catalogue is available online at lwyl.cherokeecountyga.gov.
Nominations also are being accepted for beneficiaries of the Community Giveback. Potential beneficiaries must have valid 501c3 status, be based in and serve Cherokee County, and be prepared to provide a W-9. Nominations can be made at lwyl.cherokeecountyga.gov. A committee will review the applications and select a non-profit to be the 2025 beneficiary of the Love Where You Live Community Giveback. Multiple non-profits may be selected if fundraising exceeds certain thresholds. Check presentation(s) are expected to be made in November 2025.
