(OCT. 1, 2024) — The Love Where You Live community initiative is expanding with a nomination process for participants and special orders for Love Where You Live fundraising T-shirts.
Every first and third Friday since Sept. 6, a new video highlighting a local resident has premiered on Cherokee County’s YouTube channel and social media pages. Videos will continue every first and third Friday until Nov. 15, and in December, Love Where You Live Friday will be the first Friday of every month.
The community now has the opportunity to nominate their friends, neighbors, relatives or themselves to be featured in Love Where You Live.
“This has been an exciting and well received initiative,” said Communications Director Erika Neldner. “It’s important that the community be the strongest part of this initiative. A landing page launched today that features a nomination form allowing our residents to nominate who they believe should be featured.”
Anyone can be nominated as long as they live in Cherokee County. They should be willing to be featured in a video format sharing what they love about Cherokee County. For full details, visit lwyl.cherokeecountyga.gov. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee and those selected will be notified.
The new landing page also includes a special order form for Love Where You Live T-shirts. Proceeds from the Love Where You Live T-shirts will be donated to local nonprofits serving Cherokee County. People who purchase T-shirts are encouraged to wear them on Love Where You Live Fridays when new videos are launched.
Five colors are offered and the minimum order is 12 shirts. Special order shirts are available in youth sizes small to extra large and adult sizes extra small to 5XL. Youth sizes and adult sizes up to XL are $20 each. Adult sizes 2XL-5XL are $22.
“If you have a pickleball team, are part of a local civic organization, or your business wants to participate, you can choose your shirt color and be part of Love Where You Live Fridays,” Neldner said. “Simply download the form on the website, fill it out and submit it to communications@cherokeecountyga.gov.”
Full details are available at lwyl.cherokeecountyga.gov through the “Community Giveback” button.
Individual shirt sales will be offered at The Great Pumpkin Fest Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit the Love Where You Live tent to purchase shirts available in sizes small to extra large for $20 each. Double XL shirts will be available for $22.
