Northside Hospital adds surgical, sports and internal medicine physicians

As the Atlanta Region continues to grow, Northside Hospital is adding more physicians and expanding outpatient locations to better serve patients in the communities where they live, work and play.

New Blue Ridge office – Northside Heart

Northside Heart is opening a new location in Blue Ridge on the campus at Fannin Regional Hospital. This marks the ninth location of the practice and the first in Fannin County. Drs. Amol Bapat, Max Benson, Anjan Deka, Aashish Desai and Apurva Shah will begin seeing patients Jan 6. Northside Heart is located at 2855 Old Hwy 5, Suite 103 in Blue Ridge and offers complete cardiovascular care.

Dr. Madhavi Jordan – Northside Cherokee Surgical Associates

Dr. Jordan is a board-certified and award-winning physician with extensive experience in a wide variety of surgical procedures. She specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, allowing her to offer the very latest technology to her patients, treating an array of disorders that vary in complexity.

Dr. Jordan is dedicated to her patients, ensuring they are well informed and confident in decisions about their care. She is accepting new patients at the practice’s office in Canton.

 Dr. Kellie Middleton – Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute Sports Medicine

Dr. Middleton provides advanced, comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care, specializing in complex shoulder, elbow and knee. She trained at the top orthopedic fellowship program in the nation, the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York, during which she helped take care of the NBA and the WNBA teams, the New York Knicks and the New York Liberty. Dr. Middleton also served as the assistant physician for the Woodland Hills High School Football team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A Georgia native, Dr. Middleton was a three-sport high school athlete. She graduated early from the University of Notre Dame as an All Big-East Conference player and continued her NCAA career at the University of Georgia. At UGA, Dr. Middleton became a two-time All-American while earning her Masters of Public Health. She then went on to work in Berkley, CA in public policy while playing professional fastpitch softball before medical school.

Dr. Middleton sees patients at locations in Cumming, Lawrenceville and Peachtree Corners.

Dr. Kathryn Parker – Northside Cherokee Surgical Associates

Dr. Parker is a board-certified general surgeon who has trained across the country to obtain the latest techniques for minimally invasive procedures. She specializes in advanced laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic techniques, treating an array of conditions varying in complexity and offering the latest surgical innovations to her patients.

Dr. Parker takes pride in working with her patients to optimize their health and surgical care, providing comprehensive education about each diagnosis and treatment option. She is accepting new patients at offices in Canton and Woodstock.

Dr. Jeff Polekoff – Internal Medicine of East Cobb

Internal Medicine of East Cobb, a Northside Network Provider has a new place to call home. Dr. Jeff Polekoff will now treat patients at 1121 Johnson Ferry Road, Building 2, suite 100 in Marietta.

Dr. Polekoff is a board-certified physician in internal medicine with more than three decades of practice experience. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of medical conditions in adult patients.

Dr. Kevin Powell – Northside Cherokee Surgical Associates

Dr. Powell is a board-certified general surgeon who has been practicing in Canton since 2012. He brings over a decade of experience to Northside Cherokee Surgical Associates, and is skilled in the latest minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

Dr. Powell has special interests in treating patients with gallbladder and biliary disease, skin and soft tissue disorders, breast disease, small and large bowel processes, thyroid and parathyroid disease and hernias. He is accepting new patients at the practice’s office in Canton.

Dr. Timilehin Wusu – Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute Sports Medicine

Dr. Wusu is an energetic and highly-focused orthopedic surgeon, who utilizes personalized treatment plans and a multi-disciplinary approach to effectively repair and treat a number of complex joint conditions. With a wide-range of specialties, he performs everything from minimally-invasive joint repair, to complete reconstruction and replacement, for shoulders, knees, hips and ankles.

Before pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Wusu was a collegiate and professional athlete. This love for competitive athletics and staying active, as well as overcoming several injuries throughout his career, is what drives his commitment to get—and keep—patients moving.
