As Cherokee County is a certified “Entrepreneur Friendly Community”, the Chamber – through collaboration with the Cherokee Office of Economic Development – fosters entrepreneurship through a variety of initiatives.
The Excellence in Customers Service Award recognition is designed to emphasize the importance of customer service, and the winner should consistently demonstrate excellence in service and/or hospitality.
The title of First Citizen of Cherokee County is bestowed upon a resident of Cherokee County who has resided in the county for a minimum of five years and has shown significant meritorious service to his/her community through family, civic and/or religious involvement.
The Chamber’s Going Green initiative encourages the community to implement green practices that conserve community resources while helping businesses thrive. One focus of the initiative is the annual Earth Day Recycling Event.
As strong leadership is a prime ingredient in the continuing development of any community, the Chamber’s Leadership Cherokee program educates existing and emerging leaders. Founded in 1987, Leadership Cherokee includes over 670 Alumni.
The Teen Leadership Cherokee program helps prepares Cherokee County 10th grade participants to lead, educate, aspire, and drive themselves so that they may confidently become our community’s next generation of leaders.
