(APRIL 15, 2026) – Families looking for fun, engaging, and enriching summer activities will find plenty of options through Cherokee Recreation and Parks’ 2026 summer camp programs.

With offerings for children ages 5–14, the department provides a wide variety of over 30 camp options designed to keep participants active, creative, and connected throughout the summer months.

“Our camps are about more than just keeping kids busy, they’re about building friendships, confidence, and a sense of community,” said Recreation and Parks Recreation Division Director Jessica Sauls. “We love seeing campers return year after year and grow through the experiences we offer.”

Programs will run starting May 26 through July 31 at locations across Cherokee County, featuring full-day camps, specialty experiences, and inclusive opportunities for participants of all abilities.

The popular Adventures Express Camp, designed for ages 5–12, offers a full-day experience from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Campers enjoy a variety of activities, including field trips, games, arts and crafts, and themed weekly programming, all in a safe, supervised environment. The camp is offered at multiple convenient locations across the county, including the Historic Hickory Flat Gym in Canton, the L.B. “Buzz” Ahrens Recreation Center in Canton, and the WREC in Woodstock, making it easily accessible for families throughout Cherokee County.

In addition to traditional camps, a variety of specialty camps will be available, allowing participants to explore specific interests. These include technology-focused camps such as Roblox vs. Minecraft, artificial intelligence, and drone programming, as well as outdoor adventure opportunities like kayaking and nature exploration.

Registration for all 2026 summer camps is now open. Families are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and programs fill quickly.

Camp fees vary depending on the program, with separate rates available for in-county and out-of-county residents.
