(OCT. 23, 2025) — Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration will conduct an election on Dec. 9, 2025, to fill the vacancy of State House District 23, previously held by the Honorable Mandi Ballinger.
The voter registration deadline is Nov. 10. Absentee by mail applications are currently being accepted. The deadline to submit an absentee by mail application is Dec. 1.
Advance in person voting will be held at the Cherokee County Elections & Voter Registration Office located at 193 Lamar Haley Parkway, Canton, GA 30114, on the following dates:
Monday, Nov. 17 to Saturday, Nov. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Nov. 24 to Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 1 to Friday, Dec. 5 from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING – Thursday, Nov. 27 to Friday, Nov. 28
Qualified voters of the following precincts may vote in this election:
- Hickory Log – Teasley Middle School, 151 Hickory Log Drive, Canton, GA 30114
- Airport – Fire Station Community Ctr. #21,1190 Evenflo Drive, Ball Ground, GA 30107
- Hightower – Calvary Baptist Church, 137 Hightower Road, Ball Ground, GA 30107
- Holly Springs (portions) – Holly Springs Municipal Bldg., 3235 Holly Springs Pkwy., Canton, GA 30115
- Macedonia – The Buzz Ahrens Rec Center, 7345 Cumming Hwy., Canton, GA 30115
- Canton – Canton City Hall, 110 Academy Street, Canton, GA 30114
- River Green – River Green Heritage Club, 201 Clubhouse Drive, Canton, GA 30114
- Univeter – Cherokee County Senior Center, 1001 Univeter Road, Canton, GA 30115
