Looking for a meaningful way to serve locally? CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Cherokee County, a program of The Children’s Haven, is recruiting volunteers to speak up for children experiencing foster care. From all walks of life, CASA volunteers receive special training to advocate for the well-being of children in foster care. Appointed by the Court to speak for a child’s best interests, CASAs provide compassionate, individualized attention to help children find safe, permanent homes. Currently, there are more than 400 Cherokee County children experiencing foster care. CASA volunteers significantly improve these children’s outcomes. Join us for training classes beginning in August. The classes will be held at The Children’s Haven, 1083 Marietta Hwy., Canton on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9pm. Training will begin on August 13 and will end on September 12. Please email info@CherokeeChildrensHaven.org or visit CherokeeChildrensHaven.org for more information.
